Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan recently looked back at his 2011 superhero film Ra.One during a special fan interaction on his 60th birthday. The superstar indicated the movie was very much close to his heart and it was made with lots of deep passion. He also claimed that the movie was meant to take the visual effects a notch higher in the Indian movies and inspire larger and more ambitious studio work in the nation.
Shah Rukh Khan explained that at the time audiences were still getting used to things like PlayStation, video games and iPads. Because those technologies were newer then, some ideas in the film were not fully understood. In his opinion, Ra.One would be better received and embraced by the audiences in todays time. He further explained that the movie was performing well in the box office but it was not as impactful as what he had anticipated about its force in the industry.
Shah Rukh Khan specially credited director Anubhav Sinha, who he said, put his heart and soul into the project. The actor clarified that any reentry into the Ra.One universe would all be up to Sinha. SRK mentioned that no one could recreate the film like it had initially been created except Anubhav. He said that they went much over the original, how I had put so much into the costume, and how much time he had spent getting himself in the part.
Fans hoping for a sequel received a warm hint. SRK said he would be open to revisiting the character G.One if Anubhav decides to revisit the world he built. The actor just left the door open and emphasized that the vision of the director would play a central role in any plans to be made going forward.

With these thoughts, Shah Rukh is about to head to his next major release, King, which will be released in 2026. Siddharth Anand directs the film and stars an ensemble cast of Suhana Khan, Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Abhay Verma, Raghav Juyal and Saurabh Shukla. King is one of the most important upcoming projects of SRK and it is already generating buzz due to its star power and its scale.
