Prime Video greenlights 'Savage Son', a new series featuring Chris Pratt as James Reece, based on Jack Carr's novel.

Prime Video is set to expand its popular ‘Terminal List’ franchise with a new series titled ‘Savage Son’, featuring Chris Pratt reprising his role as former Navy SEAL James Reece. The announcement was made on November 5, 2026, shortly after the successful return of ‘The Terminal List’ for its second season.

‘Savage Son’ is based on the third novel in Jack Carr’s series, which follows Reece on a personal and perilous mission. The series is described as a gripping mix of military action, espionage, and wilderness survival, exploring the primal instincts that surface when survival is at stake.

Peter Friedlander, head of global television for Amazon MGM Studios, expressed enthusiasm for the new project, highlighting the strong connection Carr’s storytelling has with audiences and the dedication of Pratt and the production team. He stated, “The Terminal List franchise continues to resonate, and Savage Son takes the story into its most intense chapter yet.”

While ‘Savage Son’ will feature characters from the ‘Terminal List’ universe, it remains unclear which, if any, of the original cast members will join Pratt in this new venture. Currently, there is no writer or showrunner attached to the project.

The announcement follows the recent success of the second season of ‘The Terminal List’, which garnered impressive viewing figures, amassing 830 million minutes of watch time in its premiere week. The franchise’s popularity has prompted speculation about its future, although Prime Video has yet to confirm whether ‘The Terminal List’ will be renewed for additional seasons.

‘Savage Son’ will follow the 2023 prequel series ‘Dark Wolf’, further enriching the narrative landscape of the franchise.
