Violence Continues in Bangladesh as Another Hindu Man Stabbed and Put on Fire, Escapes by Jumping in the Pool

Khokon Das suffered serious injuries after being attacked and set on fire in an incident that occurred on December 31 in Bangladesh’s Shariatpur district.

Bangladesh is fuming with inter communal riot. A Hindu businessman had a narrow escape when he was stabbed, beaten and set on fire by a mob in Bangladesh. This marks fourth such incident in last two weeks. The youth is identified as Khokan Chandra who jumped into a pool to escape, although he sustained serious injuries.

The brutal attack took place when Khokan was returning from his pharmacy shop in Keurbhanga Bazar. When he reached the Tiloi area, at around 9 pm, a group of miscreants waylaid him and assaulted him brutally.

The miscreants stabbed him multiple times and then poured petrol over his body and set him from fire. However, Khokan managed to jump into a nearby pond and was later rescued by locals. He was rushed to Shariatpur Sadar Hospital, with doctors saying his condition is critical.

4TH ATTACK ON HINDUS IN TWO WEEKS

The latest incident comes a day after another Hindu man, Bajendra Biswas, was shot dead while he was on security duty at a garment factory in Bangladesh’s Mymensingh. Local reports said the killer, Noman Mia, asked Biswas, “Do I shoot you?” before pulling the trigger.
