A Hindu employee was shot dead inside a garment factory in Bangladesh’s Mymensingh district. This marks the third killing of a Hindu in the past two weeks.
The incident took place on Monday evening around 6:45 pm at Sultana Sweaters Limited in Bhaluka Upazila. The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Bajendra Biswas, who worked as a security guard at the factory. The accused, 29-year-old Noman Mia, has been arrested by the police.
According to police and eyewitnesses, both were on security duty at the factory. During a conversation, Noman Mia allegedly pointed a government-issued shotgun at Bajendra either jokingly or carelessly. Shortly after, the gun fired, hitting Bajendra in the left thigh.
Bajendra was rushed to Bhaluka Upazila Health Centre in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead.
