Nainital, November 4: President Droupadi Murmu created history on Tuesday by becoming the first President of India to visit the world-renowned Kainchi Dham, the ashram of Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj. During her visit, she performed puja and offered prayers for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the nation.
Upon her arrival at the spiritual site, President Murmu was warmly welcomed with a bouquet by members of the temple management committee. She was accompanied by Uttarakhand Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Retd.) and Cabinet Minister Dhan Singh Rawat.
The President’s visit is part of her three-day tour of Uttarakhand, which commenced on November 2. Her itinerary also included attending the 20th convocation of Kumaun University later in the day and participating in celebrations marking the 125th anniversary of the Raj Bhavan in Nainital a day earlier.
In light of the President’s visit, the temple management had requested devotees to visit the shrine after 12 PM to facilitate security arrangements.
This historic visit underscores the spiritual significance of Kainchi Dham, which attracts followers from across the globe, highlighting the enduring legacy of Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj in India’s spiritual landscape.
