Microsoft set to Invest a huge ₹1.57 lakh crore in India

New Delhi: Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has released a huge investment in India…

Within the next 4 years, the company will spend almost around ₹1.57 lakh crore ($17.5 billion US dollars) in India. It is among the largest investments that Microsoft has ever made yet… and this obviously demonstrates the importance of India in the overall technology arena across the world. Nadella clarified that the investment will make India expand more rapidly in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and it’s digital infrastructure.

The announcement stated… Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a meeting with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella in which the potential of AI and prospects of future innovations in India were discussed…

Speaking about the optimistic atmosphere, regarding the Tech environment in India, PM Modi indicated that the nation is likely to empower the youth to harness this investment to become innovative.

The funds will be used to construct new data centers in India primarily. These centers will be used to store information, run the cloud services as well as assist in the advancement of AI systems. Increased number of data centers will provide Indian people and companies with faster, safer and more reliable digital services. It will also assist the Indian firms to embrace AI in fields such as healthcare, education, financial services, manufacturing and agriculture.

According to Microsoft, the country had an ideal opportunity to develop AI on a large scale because of the rapid expansion in its digital and tech economy and young population in India. Nadella provided information that India is already performing miraculous work in Tech and Tech related startups and this investment will make the country move even higher. He also mentioned that India has one of the most intelligent engineers and developers in the world and with the help of the all these, they can develop new solution.

What Microsoft had foreseen earlier?

This is a new ₹1.57 lakh crore (17.5 billion dollar) plan that is announced only several months after Microsoft already declared a 3-billion-dollar investment to develop cloud and AI infrastructure in India. Under that previous initiative, Microsoft is developing to educate millions of Indians in AI and digital skills in 2030. A lot of training programs are targeted on students, small-town youth, and women. The point is to make more Indians get good jobs in the technology sector.

Microsoft will also assist India to develop the capabilities of sovereign cloud and sovereign AI with this all new investment. Denoting that India will have a greater control of its own information and digital networks. Meanwhile moving forward it can also assist in safeguarding the privacy of its users, enhance security and benefit the government digital initiatives easily.
