Lucknow/Faridabad, November 11: In a major counter-terrorism breakthrough, Jammu and Kashmir Police in coordination with central security agencies and Haryana Police have arrested a woman doctor from Faridabad, Haryana for alleged involvement in terrorist activities. The arrested woman has been identified as Dr. Shaheen a resident of the Lalbagh area in Lucknow.
AK-47 and Ammunition Recovered
According to official sources, an AK-47 rifle and live ammunition were recovered from Dr. Shaheen’s car during a joint operation. The Jammu and Kashmir Police team took her into custody and shifted her to Srinagar for further interrogation. Investigations are currently underway to trace the full extent of the network.
Links with Dr. Mujammil and Terror Outfits
Initial investigation suggests that Dr. Shaheen was a close associate of Dr. Mujammil, an MBBS student of Al-Falah University, Faridabad, who was arrested earlier with a large cache of explosive materials from his rented accommodation. Police sources claim that the two shared a personal connection and were allegedly linked to banned terrorist organizations Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH).
Security agencies are investigating their suspected role in spreading extremist ideology among educated youth under the cover of health services and academic collaborations.
Academic Network Under Scrutiny
Investigators have revealed that Dr. Shaheen was associated with Al-Falah University through academic or health-related projects. Under this pretext, she allegedly interacted with students, faculty members and young professionals to influence and recruit them into anti-national activities.
Agencies are now verifying how far the educational network was exploited for terror financing or recruitment.
Seven Arrests So Far
Uttar Pradesh IG (Law and Order) L. R. Kumar confirmed that the woman doctor has roots in Lucknow and that local intelligence units have been activated for background verification. So far, seven individuals linked to this terror module have been arrested from different states, including Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
Authorities believe the module was part of a larger “white-collar terror network”, using educated professionals to plan operations and handle logistics for banned organizations. Investigations continue under multiple anti-terror laws and more arrests are expected.
