Delhi, 5 November (H.S.): Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, made startling allegations on Wednesday of widespread electoral fraud in the recent Haryana state elections, asserting that a victory for the Congress party was stolen through an “organized vote theft” involving nearly 2.5 million fake votes.

During a press conference in New Delhi titled ‘H Files,’ he also warned that a similar conspiracy could be underway in Bihar. The press conference was strategically held just a day before the first phase of polling for 121 assembly seats in Bihar on Thursday.

Mr. Gandhi claimed that the scale of the fraud in Haryana was not a local-level issue but was orchestrated at a higher level.

In Haryana, where there are about two crore (20 million) total voters, nearly 25 lakh (2.5 million) were fabricated. This means every eighth voter is fraudulent,” he stated.

Providing specific figures, Gandhi detailed the alleged 2,541,144 fake votes, which he said included 521,619 duplicate voters, 93,174 registered with invalid addresses, and 1,926,351 ‘bulk voters’. He also accused authorities of misusing Form-6 (for voter registration) and Form-7 (for voter deletion) on a massive scale and claimed that the Election Commission has since restricted access to this data.

Mr. Gandhi emphasized the gravity of the situation by pointing out that despite this alleged large-scale fraud, the Congress party lost the election by a slim margin of just 22,779 votes, suggesting the outcome was deliberately manipulated.

As evidence, the Congress leader displayed a photograph of a Brazilian model, claiming her image was used 22 times under different names like ‘Seema,’ ‘Saraswati,’ and ‘Sweety’ to cast votes across multiple booths. He further alleged that in two Haryana booths, one woman’s photo was repeated 223 times.

Specific individuals were also named, with one person, Shashank Giri, accused of voting 14 times, and two brothers, Rudrabhishek Jain and Naman Jain, allegedly voting 18 times.Mr. Gandhi criticized the Election Commission, stating it could easily identify these discrepancies with a simple data-filtering process but has failed to act.

He also played a video of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, in which Mr. Saini appeared to declare a decisive BJP victory before the results were announced, which Gandhi presented as proof of a conspiracy.Connecting the events to the upcoming polls, he stated that the “same pattern is now being seen in Bihar” and brought several individuals on stage who claimed their names had been inexplicably removed from the voter lists.

Concluding his address, Rahul Gandhi called upon India’s youth, saying, “Now, only Gen-Z and the youth of India can save democracy by following the path of truth and non-violence.”
