Chennai: On September 27, 2025 in Velusamypuram, Tamil Nadu, a Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) event led by actor turned politician. Thalapati vijay… turned deadly. Over 27,000 people…nearly triple the permitted 10,000 were swarmed the Karur-Erode highway, lured by reckless social media hype for a 12:45 p.m. start.

Scorching heat, no water, and zero shade left families dehydrated and collapsing. Vijay’s delayed 7:40 p.m. arrival, paired with a power outage, sparked a chaotic and frenzy surge. Screams of “Police, help” and children’s weeping vanished as 39 died in which 17 were women, and 9 children….suffocated or trampled, with 150 hospitalized.
