Mumbai: Actors Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda have delighted fans by sharing unseen photos from their wedding festivities. The couple last week shared sights of their Pradhanam and Mehendi ceremonies on Instagram where they could see more closely the happy situations they experienced with relatives and friends before getting married. Wearing fashionable dresses designed by fashion house Torani, the two were shining as they enjoy their special day together with their friends and family.
Rashmika wrote that the Pradhanam and Mehendi night happened on February 25, a day before their marriage. Looking back at the event, she wrote that the night was ideal yet too short. She also credited designer Karan Torani with the creation of a memorable appearance to the celebrations. The couple finally got married on February 26 in the presence of close family members and friends.
Inside their colourful pre wedding celebrations
The photos shared by the actors capture a lively evening filled with dancing, laughter and heartfelt moments. The couple was photographed with their friends and family members and were observed to be having fun with them. In one picture, Vijay kissed Rashmika on her forehead with an expression of love and there were others where they were smiling and celebrating with their close people.
Vijay also gave his comments on the evening, saying that it was one of the most enjoyable and memorable nights of his life. He said that it was a full evening and one he wished he could have spent many more hours. The couple seemed lost in the moment as it was the beginning of their new life.
Fashion inspired by heritage and tradition
For the Mehendi ceremony, Rashmika chose a striking outfit designed by Torani. She wore a bejeweled corset paired with a draped dhoti skirt and a Lakshmi odhna. The look was inspired by the portrait of the goddess Lakshmi in Tanjore paintings, which symbolize good fortune and the arrival of the bride as a blessing to the Indian families. She supplemented the outfit with a multi-layered necklace made of gold, polki and ruby stones as well as ear studs. Her hair was in a half ponytail with fresh flowers and a dewy makeup appearance.
Vijay opted for an unconventional yet elegant outfit that celebrated the cultural heritage of Hyderabad, his home city. His appearance had a draped veshti fashioned with a loose kurthood and an embroidered jacket which gave him a chance to revel in the festivities comfortably. He completed the outfit by adding a spectacular tourmaline cabochon necklace that was inspired by royal Maharaja insignias.
The couple’s wedding ceremony followed traditional Telugu rituals in the morning and later included Coorg customs in the evening. Soon after the ceremony, their breathtaking wedding photos went viral online and became the most liked Instagram post in India and Asia, crossing 24 million likes within 48 hours.
After the wedding, the celebrations continued with a grand reception attended by members of the Indian film industry including actors and directors. The couple also visited the groom’s village for a special puja and distributed sweets to fans across several cities. They further marked the occasion by donating food at temples.
Rashmika and Vijay, who have already collaborated in the movies like Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade, once again demonstrated why the characters were so loved by the audience. Their recent marriage photos provide a touching glimpse of the love, culture and happiness that engulfed their wedding festivities.
