In a significant development to strengthen India’s fight against crime and terror linked groups, the first national-level ‘Organised Crime Level Database’ has been launched and inaugrated. The major motive of this organisation is to dismantle the criminal groups that have repeatedly compromised the internal security of the nation.
Union Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the database in the Anti-Terror Conference 2025, organised by NIA.
What is in the Organised Crime Level Database
In the database, using several AI tools is designed to enable comprehensive and detailed information about the criminal groups. This database is specially designed to enable FIRs, chargesheets, dossiers, and other necessary information from all states, making them accessible to investigation agencies in real time.
Officials noted that organised criminals are usually scattered over the states, making it difficult for the jurisdiction to carry a smooth investigation. This becomes easy for the criminals to sense loophole and further take deadly advantage.
To address this gap, the database provides information like FIRs, chargesheets and dossiers of the criminals accessible from all states making it easy for the investigating agency.
