Mumbai: Bollywood’s Badshah gave fans the perfect birthday gift. On November 2, Shah Rukh Khan’s on his 60th birthday director Siddharth Anand unveiled the first look teaser of King.
Shah Rukh Khan’s King
The 1 minute 11 seconds video shows SRK in a never-seen, grey-haired avatar, intense eyes, a cold stare a that hints at a violent past and strong motives, that immediately set the internet on fire. Fast cuts, slick visuals, and a pounding soundtrack make the teaser feel quite tense and action-driven. The video provides ample content that is thrilling enough, SRK is transformed (grey hair and icy cool), there is some bit of action and an actor who sounds like an executioner and a protector at the same time.
The highlight of the teaser is the voiceover of SRK:
“Kitne khoon kiye, yaad nahi. Achche log the yaa bude, kabhi pucha nahi. Bass unki aankhon mein ehsaas dekha ki ye unki aakhri saans hain. Aur mein uski wajah.”
The line, paired with the grey-haired appearance and the fierce posture suggests an old, worn-out, and hard character with a heavy past.

Anand had been teasing fans for weeks with a string of cryptic Twitter (now X) posts, “Tick Tock Tick Tock” on October 9, then a sequence of one-word clues on October 29 to November 1 that spelled out suspense.. The reward was that the official announcement video was released on the birthday of SRK, so the long days of guessing and decoding of fans were over.
King has a stellar cast with SRK’s daughter Suhana Khan who had made her acting debut in The Archies. The film is loaded with other stars such as Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal, Abhay Verma, Saurabh Shukla and Jaideep Ahlawat, making it a rich ensemble.
Siddharth Anand has established himself as Bollywood’s go-to director for slick, large-scale action entertainers. He moved into the action arena with Bang Bang! (starring Hrithik Roshan), followed by War and Pathaan, and, lastly, Fighter. Known for high production values, adrenaline-driven set pieces and mass appeal, Anand reunites with Shah Rukh Khan in KING after their successful collaboration on Pathaan.
SRK has leaned into action in recent years. Pathaan and Jawan reshaping how audiences see him, not just the romantic king but an action star who can carry any large action pieces and high energy. King is also set to show SRK in a darker, more ruthless role that complements the physical, high-octane work he’s been doing in his recent films.
As the first look is now out, expectations of KING are at a fever pitch. The teaser of Siddharth Anand features a bold title unveiling and the promise of a theatrical release in 2026, heralding the count down to what may be one of the largest movies of the next year.
