Mumbai: Music composer Palash Muchhal has once again become the centre of headlines after he was spotted at Premanand Maharaj’s ashram in Vrindavan. This sighting comes at a time when speculation around his postponed wedding with Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana is growing rapidly. The viral photo shows Palash seated quietly among the devotees, wearing a face mask, with his mother and bodyguard beside him.
A Reddit user claimed to have verified his identity by pointing out the mehendi on his fingers and the familiar NaamJap mala bag he often carries. The photo soon went viral, with both positive and negative responses on the internet.
Social Media Divided Over Palash’s Visit

Reactions from Redditors and social media users were sharp and divided. Most pointed out that the visit of the composer seemed like a timed visit to the rumors that took over online platforms after the wedding was postponed.
Comments ranged from disappointment to sarcasm. One user wrote, “Such a shame that people do this now just to gain sympathy.” Another remarked, “His mom and bodyguard are right there. Something seems very off.”
A third user questioned, “Why do people run to Premanand Maharaj ji after every controversy?”
Amid all the chatter, a few also joked about the situation, adding a layer of humour to the tense speculation.
The Wedding That Was Put On Hold
Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal were set to marry on November 23 in Sanghli. But on the day of the ceremony, Smriti’s father was hospitalised due to a sudden health emergency. The family decided to postpone the wedding immediately.
This announcement was followed by a wave of online rumours accusing Palash Muchhal of being unfaithful. The buzz intensified after Smriti deleted her wedding posts. Several Indian cricket team members also removed their posts related to the upcoming celebration. Even the wedding choreographers Nandika Dwivedi and Gulnaaz Khan were dragged into the controversy as speculation escalated.
Did Smriti and Palash Have a New Date? Family Clears the Air
Soon after, unverified reports claimed that the couple had chosen December 7 as their new wedding date. However, Smriti’s brother, Shravan Mandhana, has now dismissed these rumours.
Speaking to HT, he said, “I have no idea about these rumours. As of now, the wedding is still postponed.”
His statement confirms that no new date has been fixed yet, and the families are waiting for clarity.
What Happened Behind the Scenes?
While the internet pointed fingers at Palash Muchhal, the composer’s mother stepped forward to defend him. She revealed that Palash, too, fell ill after learning about Smriti’s father’s condition because of how close he was to him.
She further said that it was Palash and not Smriti, who first suggested postponing the wedding out of respect for the situation.
After the incident, Palash Muchhal was admitted to a hospital in Sanghli and later returned to Mumbai with his family. Since then, both families have chosen to stay quiet and not react publicly to the rumours and accusations.
Second Public Appearance After the Controversy
Palash Muchhal’s ashram visit marks his second public appearance after the wedding was put on hold. Earlier, he was photographed at Mumbai airport, where he appeared quiet and kept his head down.
His recent visit has just fuelled further the speculations that are going on and fans have been keeping a close eye on all that is happening to the couple.
The Couple Remains Silent
Amid the noise, neither Smriti Mandhan nor Palash Muchhal has uttered a single word concerning the rumours. The families have remained private, choosing not to engage with online speculation.
For now, all that is confirmed is that the wedding is postponed, the situation remains delicate, and both families are navigating it away from the public eye.
