Mumbai: One of the most unforgettable patriotic songs in Indian cinema is set to make an emotionally charged return. The reconstructed edition of Sandese Aate Hain of the next war movie Border 2 will be launched on January 2 and the makers have selected a place which carries a lot of historical and emotional significance. The song will be released in Longewala and special programs will be held on Tanot Mata Mandir and Babliyan in the presence of the Border Security Force.
Reportedly, the video of the song with the promotion is to be offered soon, either on December 27 or December 28, contributing to the growing excitement of the music and emotional soul of the movie.
Why Longewala makes this launch special
The decision to release the song at Longewala is far from symbolic alone. The area is strongly connected to the actual part of real life Border (1997) was based on, thus being a place of memory and pride. The creators emphasize that the song is dedicated to the strength and heroism of the Indian military and to the silence and sacrifice of the nation by identifying the song release with the BSF.
The choice of Tanot Mata Mandir and Babliyan further strengthens the patriotic sentiment, blending faith, history, and national pride into a single musical moment that goes beyond conventional promotions.
‘Sandese Aate Hain’ becomes ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’
Earlier revelations from the censor certificate confirmed that the recreated song has been retitled ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’. The track has been cleared without any cuts and has a runtime of three minutes and 23 seconds. Though the tune is supposed to keep the emotional soul of the original, the new name indicates a deeper narrative focus on the personal sacrifices made by soldiers and the longing felt by their families back home.
The original Sandese Aate Hain was a highlight of Hindi films and it embodied the pain of separation and the emotional price of duty like few songs did. This recreation is one of the most anticipated aspects of Border 2 considering its legacy that has lasted decades.
Star cast and Republic Day release plans
Border 2 sees Sunny Deol returning to the franchise as Lt. Col. Fateh Singh Kaler, marking a significant emotional link with the original film. Other casts are Varun dhawan as major Hoshiar singh dahiya of Indian Air Force, Diljit dosanjh as Fg Offr Nirmal Jit singh Sekhon of Indian Air Force, and Ahan Shetty as Lt Cdr Alfred Noronha of Indian Navy.

Adding emotional depth to the war narrative are Mona Singh, Medha Rana, Sonam Bajwa, and Anya Singh, who play the wives of the officers, highlighting the personal sacrifices that unfold alongside the battlefield action.
Scheduled for a January 23, 2026 theatrical release, aligning with the Republic Day weekend, Border 2 is steadily building momentum. As Ghar Kab Aaoge will fill in the nostalgia and a different emotional viewpoint, the launch of Longewala will be one of the moments in the film.
