Mumbai: The trailer of Ek Din is finally out, giving audiences a heartfelt glimpse into a gentle and magical love story. Backed by Aamir Khan Productions, the film brings together Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi on screen for the first time, and their chemistry has already begun to create buzz online.
The trailer begins with a romantic scene in which there is a fortune bell which is thought to give wishes to desperate love makers in search of true love. The character of Junaid (named Rohan) tells us the story behind the bell and how people across the globe come to ring it in the hope that fate will bring them together with their soul mate. Standing silently under the bell, Rohan hopes that Meera, portrayed by Sai Pallavi would fall in love with him at least one day.
Ek Din: A tender love story built on a magical wish
Meera who before could hardly see Rohan, starts to get attached to him soon after the wish had been made. The trailer then proceeds to show us glimpses of their short lived yet beautiful moments together as they wander through the beautiful places and also have seemingly basic yet meaningful experiences.
Although the first scenes seem to be very happy and romantic, the trailer makes it clear that everything will not be so smooth in the story. As the story unfolds, things make it more difficult and Meera pushes Rohan away implying that the two characters may have an emotional twist in its short time love affair.
The contrast between the two characters makes their dynamic interesting. Junaid portrays an awkward and innocent young man who quietly carries his feelings, while Sai Pallavi appears confident and composed. This difference adds charm to their interactions and makes their bond feel relatable.
Sai Pallavi’s Hindi debut and a special reunion
The film marks the Hindi film debut of Sai Pallavi, who is already one of the most admired actresses in South Indian cinema. Her presence in the trailer has impressed viewers and it will be interesting to see how audiences respond to her in the Hindi film space.
The other piece of highlight is the imaginative reunion between Aamir Khan and filmmaker Mansoor Khan. The two have already worked together in favorite movies like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Akele Hum Akele Tum and Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na. Their reversion to the romance genre with Ek Din has brought back excitement among their old classics.
Under the direction of Sunil Pandey, the film is produced by Aamir Khan, Mansoor Khan and Aparna Purohit. It is a Hindi version of the Thai romantics film One Day 2016. The movie was also filmed in the snowy mountains of Sapporo in Japan which contributes to the dreaminess of the scenery.
The music has also generated interest, especially the title track sung by Arijit Singh, which was filmed in his hometown and received a warm response from listeners.
Originally planned for a December 12, 2025 release, the film was later postponed. Ek Din is now scheduled to arrive in theatres on May 1, 2026, promising audiences a nostalgic and emotional love story that unfolds in just one unforgettable day.
