Mumbai: After the record breaking success of Dhurandhar, the wait for its sequel is finally over. The makers have unveiled the first teaser of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, and it promises a darker, more explosive chapter in the franchise. Ranveer Singh reappearing as Hamza Ali Mazhari, the teaser has provided the fans with an impressive preview of how his character will become the ruler of the Lyari town before he turns out to be an Indian spy.
Set to release in cinemas this March, the sequel has already started generating massive buzz online, with audiences eager to see if and how Hamza takes over the feared Dakait group.
Teaser Reveals Hamza’s Rise Before the Spy Era
The 1 minute 12 second teaser begins on an impressive note by showing a younger version of the character played by Ranveer Singh. It follows the life of Hamza Mazhari as he builds his empire in Lyari and provides a new layer to the backstory of the character. The visuals suggest that Dhurandhar 2 will explore Hamza’s life even before he officially steps into the world of espionage.

Ranveer’s screen presence dominates the teaser. There is a very little dialogue and the heavy and intense images depict him as ruthless, commanding, and unstoppable. The action takes place in the streets of Lyari as Hamza consolidates his position in power. The teaser ends with a thunderous callback to Uri: The Surgical Strike, as Ranveer delivers the iconic line, “Yeh naya Hindustan hai, yeh ghar mein ghusega bhi aur marega bhi,” leaving fans thrilled.
Poster Sparks Frenzy on Social Media
Ahead of the teaser launch, the makers released a striking new poster of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge. Ranveer Singh shared the poster on social media with the caption, “Ab Bigadne Ka Waqt Aa Gaya Hai.”
The poster is drenched in deep red tones, creating a dark and intense atmosphere. Ranveer is seen standing in the rain, staring straight ahead with an unflinching and fierce expression. The words The Revenge can be seen carved into a blood red wall at the back of him that alludes to the brutal journey he will soon face.
The post quickly caught attention, with celebrities like Shilpa Shetty, Bhumi Pednekar, Tahira Kashyap, Anya Singh, and others reacting with fire emojis, adding to the growing hype.
Cast, Story and Multilingual Release Plan

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge stars Ranveer Singh as Hamza Ali Mazhari, an Indian undercover agent who infiltrates the terror networks of Lyari town in Pakistan. Other actors in the film are Sanjay Dutt as SP Choudhary Aslam, R. Madhavan as Ajay Bansal, Arjun Rampal as Major Iqbal, Rakesh Bedi as Jameel Jamali, and Sara Arjun as Yalina Jamali.
Unlike the first film, which released only in Hindi, the sequel will arrive in five languages. The film is set to hit theatres on March 19 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film was directed and written by Aditya Dhar and produced by Aditya Dhar, Jyoti Deshpande, and Lokesh Dhar.
The original Dhurandhar served as the first part of a two film series and followed a high stakes covert counter terrorism mission. It was based on an Indian spy that went undercover in Karachi to penetrate its criminal and political groups to eliminate a terror group that posed a threat to the security of India. The second movie starts off with Hamza already well established in the underworld in Pakistan.
Dhurandhar’s Historic Box Office Run

The massive anticipation for Dhurandhar 2 is backed by the phenomenal box office performance of the first film. Dhurandhar also gave a historic theatrical performance in India and abroad and became amongst the highest grossing Indian films ever.
According to trade portal Sacnilk, the film crossed Rs 1,000 crore in gross collections in India alone. With this feat, it joined an elite club that includes Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, KGF: Chapter 2, and Pushpa 2: The Rule. The only difference about Dhurandhar was that it was the first Indian film to achieve more than 1000 crore whereas the others had the advantage of being dubbed in several languages.
With Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, the makers are aiming even higher. Based on the teaser, the sequel will have a more gripping storyline, bigger action, and a much more threatening Hamza Ali Mazhari when it comes to theatres in March.
