Adani chairman says AP will host ports, green energy assets, logistics university and Amaravati development under expanded roadmap
Amaravati: Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani on Thursday said the conglomerate is moving rapidly to deepen its strategic partnership with the Andhra Pradesh government, highlighting fast-tracked collaboration with Google for a large-scale data centre ecosystem in the state.
In a post on X, Adani praised the “scale” of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision, stating that the group is working closely with state IT minister Nara Lokesh to accelerate the next phase of digital infrastructure development. The project is aimed at positioning Andhra Pradesh as a major data-economy hub on India’s east coast.
Adani reiterated the conglomerate’s broader long-term investment commitments in the state—spanning ports, renewable energy, integrated logistics, a premier logistics university, and support for building a world-class capital city at Amaravati.
Deepening collaboration with global tech giants
The announcement signals renewed momentum in Andhra Pradesh’s technology and infrastructure landscape following the return of the TDP government, which has set an aggressive agenda for data infrastructure, semiconductors, and high-value manufacturing.
Officials have indicated that the proposed data centre cluster in the state will be anchored by hyperscale partners such as Google, with a focus on AI-ready infrastructure, green power, and high-capacity connectivity. The Adani Group is expected to play a lead role in renewable energy supply and physical infrastructure to support these facilities.
Multi-sector expansion across AP
Over the past few years, Adani Group has invested in multiple sectors in Andhra Pradesh, including:
- Ports & logistics through the strategically-located Krishnapatnam and Gangavaram ports
- Green energy assets supporting the state’s renewable power transition
- Industrial and logistics infrastructure, with plans for a dedicated logistics university
- Urban development partnerships, including renewed interest in Amaravati’s capital development
Adani’s latest statement indicates the group will scale up its footprint further, aligning with Naidu’s economic roadmap for AP’s next phase of growth.
Amaravati back in focus
The reaffirmation of support for Amaravati comes at a time when the state government is seeking large private-sector partnerships to revive the capital project, which stalled in recent years. Industry leaders expect technology clusters, financial hubs, and high-end urban infrastructure to form a central part of the renewed blueprint.
