New Delhi: Donald Trump Jr, the son of the former US President Donald Trump, has been in Jamnagar, Gujarat, where he spent an entire day with Anant Ambani and his wife Radhika Merchant.
The main attraction took place when his visit was recorded on video showing him learning dandiya steps with the Ambani family and having a colourful cultural evening.
Trump Jr also came to visit Jamnagar in order to visit the Vantara animal rescue and rehabilitation centre, which Anant Ambani had established. Vantara is reported as a rescuer of injured and endangered animals and as providing them with medical care, food and a natural habitat. Trump Jr paid the centre a visit as part of his tour and he was allowed to see how rescued elephants, leopards, birds, and other creatures are treated there.
The grandeur of the project impressed him and he took some time to discuss with the caretakers the way the animals are maintained.
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant Tour
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant conducted the wildlife tour after which he was taken to a local temple within the campus. The videos depicted Trump Jr standing with bare feet and together and bowing to the idol of Lord Ganesha. This is one occasion that attracted attention as he was respectfully executing a traditional Indian way of giving prayers and this simple cultural gesture was admired by many.
During the evening they had prepared a dandiya and garba event to him. The Ambani family was dressed in customary clothes, and Trump Jr maintained a more stylish appearance in white shirt, trousers, and a blazer. Radhika Merchant was in a baby-pink silk sharara suit and Anant Ambani was in a black outfit with golden detailing. The partner of Trump Jr was no exception and was also celebrating wearing a bright red dress.
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant were the subjects of a viral video in the evening, in which they were teaching Trump Jr how to perform simple steps in dandiya. He listened attentively, watched their motions and soon began to enjoy the dance. The band was dancing in a circle, with music playing in the background and their exuberant spirits made the situation appear cozy and social. The fact that Trump Jr was able to blend into the Indian festive atmosphere was popular with many people.
This trip to Jamnagar also coincides with Trump Jr visiting India where he is present at one of the biggest high-profile weddings in Udaipur. It is the marriage of Netra Mantena who is the daughter of a reputed industrialist. The event will see a long list of international celebrities, and will have grand celebrations in various arrangements such as City Palace or Jag Mandir.
The celebration is set to last one of the luxury hotels in Udaipur where Trump Jr is supposed to be staying. His visit has also made security around Udaipur tight with the co-ordination between foreign and local security forces.
