New Delhi, 21 November: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a tour of South Africa from 21 to 23 November. He will represent India at the 20th G-20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg. This is the fourth consecutive time that the G-20 Summit is being organized in the Global South. This time too, Prime Minister Modi will present India’s clear and influential vision on global issues before the world.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the Prime Minister will express views in all three main sessions of the summit. The first session will be focused on ‘Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth – Leaving No One Behind’. In this session, there will be discussion on topics like building the economy, role of trade, financing for development and debt burden. The second session will be based on ‘A Capable and Resilient World – G-20’s Contribution’. In this, deliberations will be held on disaster risk reduction, climate change, just energy transition and strengthening global food systems.
The third session of the summit will be centered on ‘Just Future for All’. In this, topics like critical mineral management, decent employment and responsible use of artificial intelligence will be prominent. India’s perspective on these issues will come before the world through the Prime Minister’s addresses.
Apart from this summit organized in Johannesburg, the Prime Minister will also participate in several bilateral meetings. He will meet leaders of various countries and discuss issues of mutual interest. Besides this, Prime Minister Modi will also participate in the India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) Leaders’ meeting organized with the objective of further strengthening cooperation between India, Brazil and South Africa.
