Mumbai: The entertainment world was set ablaze with grief and speculation when word spread that veteran actor Dharmendra had passed away. However, in a fierce response, his wife Hema Malini stepped in to refute the rumours, condemning the media for spreading baseless reports and demanding respect for the family’s privacy.
In her strong-worded statement on social media, Hema Malini wrote:
“What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy.”
Hospitalisation and Current Health Status
Earlier this month, Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after experiencing breathlessness.
While initial reports claimed he had deteriorated and was on ventilator support, the family clarified that he remains stable and under observation, not on a ventilator.
Hema Malini, in her update, thanked well-wishers for their concern and reiterated that Dharmendra is being continuously monitored:
“I thank everyone for their concern about Dharam ji who is in hospital for observation. He is being continuously monitored and we are all with him. I request you all to pray for his welfare and speedy recovery.”
Family sources further confirmed that his condition is improving day by day, and the actor remains under the care of top doctors.
