Mumbai: Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa‘s diwali release Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is making waves at the box office, opening to a strong response and performing well with the audience. Directed by Milap Milan Zaveri, it is a dark romantic drama that has resonated with viewers, and is holding firmly because of its opening weekend. The intense romantic plot, emotional acting, and soulful music helped the movie to have a strong debut.

It is also a milestone to Rane who has not quite achieved the same success with her previous film, Sanam Teri Kasam, until this success was achieved. His Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has become the first box-office hit to his original release.

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat Box office Collection

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote that the film continues to perform well on Friday… It drives its business through Tier-2 and Tier-3 centres, which are super-strong. The collections will continue to increase during the weekend.

This is the performance of the movie up to date:

  • Tuesday: ₹10.10 crore
  • Wednesday: ₹8.88 crore
  • Thursday: ₹7.10 crore
  • Friday: ₹6.41 crore
    Total (4 Days): ₹32.49 crore

The film analysts estimate that the weekend and Sunday collections would take the film a step higher in terms of profitability giving it a chance to recoup its production cost in the first week itself. Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has stood on its own despite the stiff competition by Ayushmann Khurrana’s Thamma which had dominated the multiplex screens, particularly in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

About Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is directed by Milap Milan Zaveri and stars Harshvardhan Rane as Vikramaditya also known as a powerful, intense man, who is driven by desire and control, and Sonam Bajwa as Adaa, an independent-minded actress. Their love affair is soon dark, discussing how obsession can make and break love. The songs of the movie and the emotional content have been lauded by critics with most of them referring to it as a typical Milap Zaveri kind of romantic tragedy brazen, full of ardor, and touching to the heart.

Provided that the film proceeds at this rate, it may turn out to be one of the Diwali hits of the year 2025, as it will yet again prove that the emotional storytelling and strong performances can touch viewers on a personal level.
