Mumbai: Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna‘s latest release, Thamma, has had a very good opening in the Indian box office and has been the continuation of the success that the Maddock Horror-Comedy Universe has been having in recent years.
The romantic horror-comedy Thamma, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, earned an estimated 24 crore net on its opening day, one of the largest openings of mid-size film in recent times. Its fresh storyline, acting power, and the rise of the Maddock Horror-Comedy Universe, which has already produced hits such as Stree 2 ( 600 crore net) and Munjya ( 100 crore+), can be credited to the success of the movie on its first week of theatrical release.
Thamma’s Box Office Collection
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said Thamma went on an unbroken-steady trend at the box office. Although the working-day influence was noticeable during the day shows, gatherings were made in the evening and night screenings. The South India circuit especially recorded a huge jump in collections, which contributed to the nationwide momentum of the film.
Box Office Breakdown and Weekend Prediction
The initial week performance of the movie has been good and the reported earnings to date are as below:

About Thamma
It features Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in leads roles and Paresh Rawal in a key role. The movie opens up a chilling but comedic realm of Betal that builds out the horror-comedy movie world of Maddock.
Thamma is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and written by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew and Arun Falara, produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik. The movie balances romance, humour and supernatural thrills just enough without veering off course and adhering to the formula of making Stree and Bhediya colossal hits. Having solid word-of-mouth and incredibly high first day numbers, Thamma is already on the road to becoming the next big blockbuster in the Horror-Comedy Universe of Maddock Films.
