Lakshya Lalwani, known mononymously as Lakshya and originally from Delhi, has rapidly risen through India’s entertainment landscape first gaining fame as the warrior Porus in the high-budget historical TV series, and later delivering a powerful cinematic debut in the action film Kill (2023). This week, his career took another leap forward when he was officially announced as the lead actor in Aryan Khan’s upcoming directorial web series, The Bastards of Bollywood. What makes this casting particularly notable is that Lakshya achieved it without any industry lineage or nepotistic advantage.
Born on 19 April 1996 in New Delhi, Lakshya has always pursued unconventional pathways to success. After completing schooling and college at the University of Delhi, he entered the entertainment industry via modeling and television. His early roles included Warrior High and Adhuri Kahaani Hamari, but it was his portrayal in Porus (2017–2018) rumored to be the most expensive Indian TV production to date—that became his breakthrough.
Transitioning to films, Lakshya’s feature debut came with Dharma Productions’ action thriller Kill, in which he starred as an NSG commando. The film premiered at TIFF and Tribeca, attracted critical acclaim for its intense performances, and became one of the year’s impactful action releases. Lakshya’s performance earned him the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year (Male).
Now stepping into the world of streaming, Lakshya will lead Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, a significant leap given Aryan’s relationship to Bollywood royalty. It’s a testament to Lakshya’s craft and rising popularity that he was handpicked for this project based purely on talent.
