Mumbai: The wait is finally over for Ram Charan fans. The makers of his upcoming pan-India Telugu film Peddi have officially confirmed the release date. The movie is currently being scheduled to be released in theatres in most countries of the world on April 30, 2026, featuring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles.
Ram Charan announces Peddi release date
On February 4, Ram Charan took to social media to share a brand-new poster from Peddi. Along with it, he announced the new release date and wrote, “PEDDI will see you on 30th APRIL, 2026.” The announcement quickly grabbed attention, with fans celebrating the update for one of the most awaited Indian films of the year.
Peddi was originally planned to be released on March 27, but was delayed more than a month. The shift is a way the film escapes a huge box office collision with Ranveer Singh in Dhurandhar: The Revenge and Yash in gangster film Toxic, which are both coming out in mid March.
Janhvi Kapoor’s first film with Ram Charan

Peddi marks Janhvi Kapoor’s first collaboration with Ram Charan. Director Buchi Babu Sana has recently made a comment about her casting in the film and said that he wanted a crazy heroine to provide charm, traction and freshness to the film. He complimented Janhvi as a tough actor and told that she was very thrilled about the role, the location and the magnitude of the movie.
According to the filmmaker, Janhvi could not resist taking up the part once she heard the story, adding that her presence adds a new layer to the narrative.
Story, cast, and music details
Written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi is a rustic sports action drama set in 1980s rural Andhra Pradesh. The movie tells the story of a character, Ram Charan, a hot-tempered villager who unites his village with the sport of cricket and opposes the strong rivals at the same time.
The film features an impressive ensemble cast including Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, Divyenndu Sharma of Mirzapur fame, Jagapathi Babu, and Boman Irani in pivotal roles. AR Rahman works on the music, contributing to the giant expectation of the film.
Peddi is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas and is presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings.
Ram Charan’s personal milestone
On the personal front, Ram Charan and his wife Upasana Konidela recently welcomed twins, a baby boy and a baby girl. The couple also posted a heart-warming message with gratitude to the family, fans, and well-wishers, and addressed the power of women in their lives.
With a powerful story, star-studded cast, AR Rahman’s music, and a strategic release date, Peddi is shaping up to be one of the biggest theatrical events of 2026.
