Mumbai: The Hindi film industry has a new benchmark, and its name is Dhurandhar. The film has officially crossed ₹800 crore nett in India, making it the first outright Hindi film to achieve this historic milestone. Having had a phenomenal box office run, Dhurandhar is now on a path to topple the lifetime Hindi collection record of Pushpa 2 and become the top grossing film forever.
Day 30, the Ranveer Singh starrer is tall at ₹806.80 crore nett and the figures continue to increase. Trade experts are calling it an all time mega blockbuster, with a projected lifetime finish between ₹875 crore and ₹900 crore nett in India.
Record Breaking Box Office Run
Dhurandhar opened to thunderous response and maintained strong momentum week after week. The film collected ₹218 crore in Week 1, followed by an even stronger ₹261.50 crore in Week 2. Week 3 saw a solid ₹189.30 crore, while Week 4 added ₹115.70 crore to the total.
The film continued its dream run in Week 5 as well.It gained ₹9.70 crore on Friday and then continued by making a remarkable ₹12.60 crore on Saturday and crossed the historic mark of ₹800 crore. This achievement places Dhurandhar in a league of its own in Hindi cinema history.
At present, the film is inching closer to Pushpa 2’s Hindi lifetime total of ₹830 crore, and trade believes it is only a matter of time before that record is broken.
Dhurandhar 2 Release Date Locked
Adding to the excitement, the makers have officially announced the release date of the sequel. Dhurandhar 2 is set to hit theatres on 19 March 2026. The sequel will be released during the significant festivals such as Eid, Ugadi and Gudi Padwa and this is a strategic move that will see the sequel making an enormous opening at the box office.
With Dhurandhar rewriting record books and Dhurandhar 2 already locked for a festive release, the franchise is shaping up to be one of the biggest success stories in modern Hindi cinema. Everyone is now wondering the extent to which the first film can extend and whether it will emerge as the best grossing Hindi film ever.
