Washington, November 22: Under President Trump , US has proposed a 28 point peace plan for conflict between Ukraine and Russia. It includes major demands from Ukraine such as giving up some of the land , reduce its army and stop actively trying to get into NATO. It is an unfair quid pro quo where in exchange, Russia would pull back a little amount of army from Ukrainian land.
In a recent talk between Trump and Zelenskyy, the President of US states that Zelenskyy “must” accept this plan. It indirectly says that if he doesn’t co-operate, Ukraine will surely lose US military support and aid . In response to this “peace” plan , Zelenskyy clearly mentioned that he strongly against giving up any fundamental rights – life without freedom, without dignity and without justice. He also called the moment “ one of the most difficult in Ukrainian history”.
To the public he stated that this plan forces the country to choose between dignity and losing a major support , the US. He would also propose alternativies and not betray the country s constitution.
Russia is surely going to benefit from this plan , all advantages point to them. Putin directs that this plan can be the “basis” for the settlement. The Kremlin is standing on their own favourable position as Ukraine would give up some territory and NATO goals after this plan is placed.
European allies were not consulted about this “peace plan” and got to know when it leaked into the media, which created strained ties and trust issues.
This entire situation is a power struggle with dirty world politics, where it is difficult to understand this so called peace plans exist to create peace or war. Outcome relies on whether Kyiv accepts it’s fate or resists pressure, leaving the war’s future shaped by power rather than basic humanity.
