Agra, November 20: United States President Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., arrived in Agra on Thursday afternoon for a special tour of the Taj Mahal, accompanied by a distinguished international delegation. His aircraft touched down at Kheria Airport at 1:30 PM, where officials and security personnel were already stationed for his reception.
Trump Jr. is leading a 126-member group comprising guests from nearly 40 countries, all of whom are in India for a multi-day private visit. After landing, the entourage proceeded directly to the Oberoi Amarvilas, where they halted briefly for lunch before heading toward the Taj Mahal.
This is Trump Jr.’s first-ever visit to the Mughal monument famed worldwide for its architecture and symbolism. His parents then-President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump had visited the Taj Mahal in February 2020. Trump Jr. himself last toured India in February 2018, during which he made stops in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Kolkata for business engagements.
Massive Security Arrangements in Agra
Given the scale and profile of the visit, Agra authorities executed extensive security preparations across the city.
- About 200 police personnel were deployed at sensitive and tourist-heavy areas.
- Anti-sabotage teams and surveillance units were stationed near key entry points.
- Municipal teams cleaned major approach roads and carried out a special drive to remove stray animals 16 dogs and 12 cows from the Taj Mahal route.
The arrangements ensured that visitors and Trump Jr.’s delegation could access the monument smoothly and without disruption.
Next Stop: Udaipur for High-Profile Wedding
After completing the Taj Mahal tour, Trump Jr. is scheduled to fly to Udaipur, Rajasthan, where he will attend an extravagant destination wedding of an Indian-American family on November 21 and 22.
- The main marriage ceremony will be held at the stunning Jag Mandir Palace located on Lake Pichola.
- Other pre-wedding functions will take place inside Manek Chowk at the City Palace.
Sources confirm that Trump Jr. will be staying at The Leela Palace Udaipur, one of the city’s most exclusive luxury hotels. Rajasthan authorities have also initiated additional security measures across Udaipur ahead of his arrival.
