Mumbai: The big update around Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups has taken an interesting turn. The Yash starrer also avoids March 19 clash with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, but it is anticipated to arrive in theatres on June 4, 2026. Nonetheless, the latest release date has created an opportunity of another possible box office confrontation.

With Toxic arriving on June 4, it will now share its opening weekend with Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, starring Varun Dhawan, which is scheduled to release on June 5. The movies are not coming out on the same day but will compete at the same weekend, so it will be a well-timed battle at the box office.

Yash vs Varun at the Box Office?

There is already buzz in trade circles that this will become a fully fledged box office confrontation between Yash and Varun Dhawan. Toxic is being planned as a big scale action drama with a great Pan India appeal. Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai on the other hand is claimed to be a young romantic entertainer that is aimed at family viewers.

The genre discrepancy can assist both movies to occupy their own niche, though the coincidence in the release dates can be used to split the screens and performances during the key weekend of the opening.

Star Casts and What Lies Ahead

Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas also has Nayanthara, Kiara Advani and Tara Sutaria playing central parts. Meanwhile, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hana Hai features Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde as the opposites of Varun. At this point of time, no official change in the date of release of Varun Dhawan starrer has been made. Provided that both films remain in their current timeframes, it can be assumed that audiences will have a fun weekend as two huge releases come back one after another.
