PM Modi’s 3-Day Tour (Sept 13–15): Mega Infra Push in Mizoram, Manipur, Assam, West Bengal and Bihar

New Delhi, September 12(HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a three-day visit to Mizoram, Manipur, Assam, West Bengal, and Bihar from September 13 to 15, unveiling and laying the foundation stone of projects worth over Rs 71,850 crore. The schedule includes the launch of major infrastructure, connectivity, and industrial initiatives, alongside a landmark announcement for the agricultural sector with the establishment of a National Makhana Board in Bihar.

Mizoram (September 13)

Beginning his tour in Aizawl, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth over Rs 9,000 crore. Key highlights include the inauguration of the Bairabi-Sairang New Rail Line, linking Mizoram’s capital to the Indian Railways network for the first time. Built at a cost of Rs 8,070 crore, the 51.38 km line features 45 tunnels, 55 major bridges, and 88 minor bridges, marking a milestone in connectivity for the hill state.

On the occasion, PM Modi will flag off three express trains – the Aizawl-Delhi Rajdhani Express, Aizawl-Guwahati Express, and Aizawl-Kolkata Express – strengthening links between the Northeast and the rest of the country. He will also lay the foundation stone for multiple road projects, including the Rs 500-crore Aizawl Bypass Road, and inaugurate key educational and sports facilities such as the Eklavya Model Residential School and Khelo India Multipurpose Indoor Hall. The session also includes the foundation stone of an LPG Bottling Plant at Mualkhang and the inauguration of a residential school at Kawrthah.

Manipur (September 13)

In Churachandpur, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation of development projects worth around Rs 7,300 crore, including a Rs 3,600-crore urban roads and drainage project and five National Highway projects worth over Rs 2,500 crore. He will also launch the Manipur Infotech Development (MIND) Project.

Later, in Imphal, PM Modi will inaugurate projects worth around Rs 1,200 crore, including the New Civil Secretariat, IT SEZ Building, and Police Headquarters. He will also inaugurate Ima Markets, a signature all-women marketplace in four districts, underlining the government’s support for women-led economic spaces.

Assam (September 13–14)

In Guwahati, the Prime Minister will participate in centenary celebrations of legendary cultural icon Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, paying tribute to his legacy.

The following day, he will launch projects worth more than Rs 18,530 crore. At Darrang, he is set to lay the foundation for the Darrang Medical College and Hospital, a GNM School, and the Kuruwa-Narengi Bridge across the Brahmaputra. He will also dedicate the Guwahati Ring Road Project, aimed at easing congestion and enhancing intra-state mobility. Later, at Numaligarh, he will inaugurate the Assam Bio-Ethanol Plant and lay the foundation of a Polypropylene Plant, reinforcing Assam’s clean energy and petrochemical economy.

West Bengal (September 15)

In Kolkata, PM Modi will inaugurate the 16th Combined Commanders’ Conference-2025 on September 15. The conference, themed “Year of Reforms – Transforming for the Future”, will see top military and civilian leaders discuss India’s military readiness and strategic reforms. The three-day forum, held biennially, will run from September 15–17.

Bihar (September 15)

Concluding his tour, Prime Minister Modi will visit Purnea to inaugurate the new terminal building of Purnea Airport, enhancing air connectivity in the region. He will also launch the National Makhana Board, a long-awaited move that will benefit thousands of farmers in Bihar, which accounts for nearly 90% of India’s makhana production.

The Prime Minister will dedicate and lay foundation stones for projects worth around Rs 36,000 crore. These include the Rs 25,000-crore 3×800 MW thermal power project at Pirpainti, Bhagalpur, Bihar’s largest private sector investment, and Phase I of the Kosi-Mechi River Link Project.

Rail connectivity in Bihar will also receive a major boost, with the Bikramshila–Katareah rail project worth Rs 2,170 crore and the inauguration of the Araria–Galgalia Rail Line. Additionally, the Prime Minister will flag off new trains, including a Jogbani–Danapur Vande Bharat Express, Saharsa–Amritsar Amrit Bharat Express, and Jogbani–Erode Amrit Bharat Express, bringing several districts closer to key economic and cultural hubs.

Further announcements include the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Sex Sorted Semen Facility at Purnea under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission, aimed at revolutionizing cattle productivity in eastern India, and participation in Griha Pravesh ceremonies for over 40,000 beneficiaries under PMAY (Rural and Urban).

The Prime Minister will also hand over Community Investment Funds of Rs 500 crore to Cluster Level Federations under the DAY-NRLM, reinforcing grassroots economic empowerment in Bihar.
