Guwahati (Assam), 13 September (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after completing his visits to Mizoram and Manipur, arrived late in the evening at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati. He was received by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, cabinet ministers, senior leaders, and top officials.
Soon after his arrival, the Prime Minister proceeded directly to the Khanapara Playground to participate in the centenary celebrations of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. Thousands of people thronged the route from the airport to the venue, cheering and waving to welcome him.
The Prime Minister will stay overnight in Guwahati. On Sunday, he is scheduled to address public gatherings in Darrang and Golaghat districts, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of several mega projects worth thousands of crores.
