Following his visit to Jordan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Ethiopia on Tuesday. Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali greeted him formally at the National Palace. The two leaders met bilaterally to talk about improving relations and collaboration between the two nations.

Speaking at the gathering, Prime Minister Modi said he was delighted to be traveling to Ethiopia for the first time and that he immediately felt a connection with the country.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed commended PM Modi’s vision, emphasizing that India’s strategy for Africa centers on alliances that are in line with the demands of the region.

In order for both countries to advance together, he emphasized the significance of creating a new and solid alliance between Ethiopia and India that is founded on equality, respect, and cooperation.
