New Delhi: Following the successful launch of India’s heaviest communication satellite CMS-03 by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Sunday, leaders, scientists, and industrialists across the nation have lauded this historic achievement. Prime Minister’s Congratulations
Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on X (formerly Twitter), saying,
“Our space sector continues to make us proud! Congratulations ISRO on the successful launch of India’s heaviest communication satellite, CMS-03.”
He added that powered by space scientists, it is commendable how the space sector has become synonymous with excellence and innovation. PM Modi stated that these successes have furthered national progress and empowered countless lives.
ISRO Chief Explains Technical Achievement
ISRO Chairman Dr. S Somanath wrote on X,
Congratulations to the entire ISRO team on the successful launch of LVM3-CMS03! The mission once again proves the reliability and versatility of the LVM3 launcher.”
He explained that the sub-GTO approach, enabling the lift of a heavier satellite by optimising fuel loading in the spacecraft to achieve its final orbit without compromising mission life, is a remarkable engineering achievement.
ISRO Secretary and Chairman Dr. V. Narayanan said,
Congratulations India, ISRO has successfully launched the heaviest GEO communication satellite from Indian soil. The Indian space sector is soaring high to provide valuable services to the user community in and around the Indian region.”
Vice-President and Defence Minister’s Response
Vice-President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan said,
Hearty congratulations to ISRO and the Indian Navy! India’s mighty LVM3-M5 rocket roared to the skies once again with the successful launch of GSAT-7R (CMS-03) — the heaviest and most advanced communication satellite for the Indian Navy.”
He stated that this indigenously developed satellite will strengthen space-based communications, connectivity, and maritime domain awareness across the Indian Ocean Region, marking another proud milestone in Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
