New Delhi, September 13 (HS): A bomb threat email sent to Delhi’s prestigious Taj Palace Hotel triggered a massive security scare in the early hours of Saturday, prompting police to launch an intensive search operation on the premises. Following a thorough sweep of the hotel, the alert was established as a hoax, bringing relief to both the authorities and guests.

According to Delhi Police, the hotel management received the threatening email around 2:00 a.m. on Friday night, warning of a bomb attack. Police teams were immediately rushed to the spot, and every section of the luxury hotel was meticulously inspected. However, no suspicious objects or materials were found during the hours-long search. Guests and staff had to endure temporary inconvenience as the security operation unfolded, but normalcy was restored once the threat was ruled out.

This incident followed just hours after a similar email, threatening bomb blasts at the Delhi High Court, was received by the Registrar General’s office on Friday morning around 8:39 a.m. The message claimed that three explosives had been planted within the court premises, including judges’ chambers. Security agencies carried out extensive checks, which also confirmed the threat to be baseless.

Police officials said the matter has now been handed over to the Cyber Cell for further investigation to identify the source of the threatening emails.
