Mumbai: With exactly 100 days left until release, Rocking Star Yash’s much awaited film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has shifted into high gear. The makers dropped a dark, powerful poster that set social media alight and revealed the creative minds behind the film’s big canvas. The movie will be released in cinemas on March 19, 2026, which was selected with the intention of capitalizing on the Gudi Padwa-Ugadi-Eid holiday period.
A poster that stops you in your tracks
The new poster is a bold, cinematic statement. It shows Yash in a blood soaked bathtub, his muscular frame and detailed tattoos catching the light as he turns toward a narrow beam from outside. His face is not shown and this also brings mystery to it and leaves fan theories. The piece is rather mythical and already numerous viewers have proclaimed it one of the strongest glances of the movie.
This reveal follows an earlier poster where Yash appeared in a black leather jacket and hat, walking away from a burning town while carrying a gun. The two pictures combined create an atmosphere of rough-cut, gut-wrenching action and emotional darkness that the movie appears to deliver.
Big names shaping the film’s look and sound
Toxic is backing its visual and audio ambition with top talent. National Award winning cinematographer Rajeev Ravi leads the film’s visual language, promising moody, cinematic frames. Music is by Ravi Basrur, who with Yash previously collaborated on KGF, and Ujwal Kulkarni does the editing. The film has a cinematographic, mass-like appearance and this is attributed to the production design of TP Abid.
Action with international touch
The action has an international edge. Hollywood filmmaker JJ Perry, who has worked on John Wick, has designed some of the key action set pieces on Toxic. Anbariv, a national award winning action director, has also worked on key sequences. Their involvement points to high intention on scope and execution for the film’s fight and stunt work.
Story credit and filmmaking team
The screenplay is a collaboration between Yash and director Geetu Mohandas, with Mohandas directing the film. That creative pairing suggests a deeply personal vision from Yash as both co writer and leading man. Toxic was filmed in both English and Kannada to retain its authenticity across languages, and will be dubbed in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil, Malayalam and others to roll out on a mass scale in many languages. Venkat K Narayana and Yash are the producers of the film under the banners KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations.
A major box office collision: Toxic Vs Dhurandhar 2

Toxic’s choice of March 19, 2026 has another consequence. The release of Dhurandhar 2, the sequel to a high profile spy action movie starring Ranveer Singh, and directed by Aditya Dhar, is also planned on the same day. Dhurandhar 2 is said to have a heavy star loaded cast comprising of Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna and R. Madhavan and takes an epic run time thereby making it one of the most ambitious films in India. The clash between Yash and Ranveer sets up a high voltage box office battle that will define the opening weekend.
Toxic’s posters, creative team and international action designers all point to a film built for scale and wide appeal. The release date is well selected, providing it with a solid holiday window and the multilingual release strategy should make it a true pan India one. However, the clash with Dhurandhar 2 will ensure a rowdy opening weekend, as people and movie industry observers are keen to see which movie takes the bigger portion.
