Mumbai: Vikrant Massey has finally addressed the swirling rumours around his alleged casting and replacement in Nitesh Tiwari’s much-anticipated epic Ramayana. In recent days, there were reports that the 12 th Fail actor was originally to play Meghanad before he was substituted by Raghav Juyal. But Vikrant has now clarified the record by saying that he was not a part of the project at all.
The clarification came after several media reports suggested a casting change, sparking widespread discussion across social media and entertainment circles.
Vikrant Massey Reacts To Replacement Reports
According to recent industry updates, Raghav Juyal has been finalized to play Meghanad, also known as Indrajit, the eldest son of Lankanaresh Ravana, in Ramayana. Shortly, a news reported that he had substituted Vikrant Massey in the position, leading to confusion and speculation.
Taking to his Instagram Stories on February 7, Vikrant shared a strongly worded post to clear the air. He wrote that he was never part of the film, adding that such reports were misleading and irresponsible. Although the actor eventually deleted the post, his message had already attracted attention in the society. He also wished the whole Ramayana team and said that he would certainly go to theatres to watch the film.
A Power-Packed Cast For Ramayana
Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is shaping up to be one of the biggest cinematic spectacles in Indian cinema, with a star-studded cast leading the way. Ranbir Kapoor will be observed playing Lord Ram, and Sai Pallavi enters the world of Goddess Sita. Yash plays a strong role of Lankanaresh Ravana which carries with it a lot of anticipation in the project.
Sunny Deol will play Lord Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey will be seen as Lakshman. The star cast also consists of Kajal Aggarwal playing the role of Mandodari and Rakul Preet Singh playing the role of Surpanakha. Moreover, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Arun Govil, Sheeba Chaddha, and Indira Krishnan will also perform key roles.
Recent reports also suggest that the makers are considering Vijay Sethupathi for the role of Vibhishana, Ravana’s younger brother, though an official confirmation is still awaited.
