Mumbai: Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s romantic drama Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is facing early box office pressure as it failed to show the expected weekend jump on Day 3. The film has had a rough start on Christmas and since then, it has not gained any momentum, casting some doubt on its theatrical performance overall.
Flat Saturday Raises Red Flags for the Film
According to early estimates, the film collected around Rs. 4.25 to Rs. 4.75 crore on Saturday, staying close to its Friday figure of Rs. 4.5 crore. This lack of growth is concerning since the urban, multiplex driven movies typically experience a significant increase on Saturdays following a hectic Friday. The fact that there is no growth implies that the initial curiosity did not turn into the strong walk in audiences and positive word of mouth.
Trade analysts point out that heavy competition is playing a major role. Dhurandhar by Ranveer Singh is still leading the screens in its third week, with Avatar Fire And Ash drawing high-end viewers, reducing space to newer films.
Three Day Total and Occupancy Details
With Saturday’s collections staying flat, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is expected to close its first three days at around Rs. 16.75 crore. The breakup stands at approximately Rs. 7.75 crore on Day 1, Rs. 4.5 crore on Day 2, and Rs. 4.5 crore on Day 3.
As per available data, the film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of around 19.43 percent on Saturday, which further indicates a muted response, especially in metro centres. Sacnilk estimates show a nett collection on Saturday a little over Rs. 5 crore, which with the total of around Rs. 18 crore, is not remarkable in terms of increase.
Sunday Holds the Key to the Film’s Future
All eyes are now firmly on Sunday. A solid jump on Day 4 could help the film stabilise during the Christmas New Year corridor. But the fact that Sunday too does not bring a significant spike may have very serious constraints on the lifetime business of the film.
Trade circles believe that if the trend continues, the film may struggle to cross the Rs. 40 crore mark unless there is a late turnaround driven by strong word of mouth or holiday footfalls.
About the Film and Cast

Directed by Sameer Vidwans, the film is produced by Karan Johar under Dharma Productions. It is the first film between Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, since their 2019 hit Pati Patni Aur Woh. Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta are veteran actors who contribute to the emotional richness of the story.
Speaking about the film earlier, Kartik Aaryan had expressed gratitude for the project, praising the writing and direction for delivering a romantic story with a message that remains entertaining and not preachy.
