Mumbai: Tara Sutaria has stepped into a bold new space with her first look from Toxic A Fairytale For Grown Ups, and it is already creating a strong buzz online. The makers unveiled the poster on Saturday, introducing Tara as Rebecca, a character that looks powerful, stylish, and full of mystery. Directed by Geetu Mohandas and headlined by Yash, the film is touted as a dark, retro world that would be intense and have a spectacular look.
The poster shows Tara holding a gun with calm confidence, her expression sharp and fearless. There is no panic or softness in her eyes. Rather, she is a woman who appears in full control. The appearance is exactly suitable to the retro motif that the movie has been developing with its previous character unveilings.
Tara Sutaria’s Fierce Retro Avatar as Rebecca
Tara’s styling in the poster stands out instantly. She is seen wearing a strapless, shimmery gown that adds glamour while still feeling dangerous. The lace gloves add a stiff vintage feeling, and the fact that her hair is voluminous, softly waved, gives her classic old Hollywood energy. Her makeup is understated but intense, with defined eyes that add depth to her character’s serious mood.
The background of the poster is dim and golden, filled with shadows that suggest secrecy and tension. The warm lighting highlights Tara while keeping the surroundings mysterious. The environment helps to see that Toxic is not a fairy tale but a dark story that should be watched by adults.
Sharing the poster on social media, Yash introduced her by writing, “Introducing Tara Sutaria as REBECCA in A Toxic Fairy Tale For Grown Ups.” A press note further described her character with the line, “She wields power and guns like her birthright,” hinting at Rebecca’s strong presence in the film.
A Star Studded Cast and a Dark New World
Tara’s first look was revealed after the makers introduced Kiara Advani as Nadia, Huma Qureshi as Elizabeth, and Nayanthara as Ganga. Every female character we have seen up to this point has been dressed in eye-catching retro attire, which further contributes to the stylish and period setting of the movie. Rukmini Vasanth, Akshay Oberoi, and Sudev Nair are also part of the ensemble cast alongside Yash.

Toxic is a period gangster drama directed by Geetu Mohandas and written by her along with Yash. The movie is directed by Venkat K Narayana and Yash through the KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. It was officially announced in 2023 and went on floors in 2024, though it has been unofficially in development since 2018.
The film has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English and will release in Hindi and other South Indian languages as well. It is scheduled to hit theatres on March 19, coinciding with Ugadi. The initial sight of the movie, which was in a casino, came as a shock to most audiences because it was a visual contrast to the earlier movies of Geetu Mohandas, such as Liar’s Dice and Moothon.
With Tara Sutaria’s powerful introduction as Rebecca, Toxic A Fairytale For Grown Ups continues to build intrigue. Her strong and aggressive avatar gives the film another thrilling twist, as fans can only imagine how her character will play out in this dark and stylish world.
