Mumbai: Actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood on Friday released a video urging airline passengers to remain patient and courteous amid rising flight delays and cancellations across major Indian airports. His message, shared widely on social media, specifically appealed for kindness toward IndiGo staff, who he said are “carrying the weight of cancellations too.”
Flight disruptions across multiple busy airports have triggered frustration among travellers in recent days. In his video, Sonu Sood acknowledged the inconvenience but reminded passengers that airline staff are working under immense pressure to manage operational challenges.
“A delayed flight is frustrating, but remember the faces trying to fix it. Please be nice and humble to the IndiGo staff; they are carrying the weight of cancellations too. Let’s support them,” Sood said in his statement.
The video appears to have been recorded at an airport terminal, where Sonu Sood is seen addressing travellers directly. He urged passengers to avoid confrontation and maintain empathy, emphasising that frontline airline workers often face the brunt of public anger despite being “part of the solution, not the problem.”
IndiGo, India’s largest airline by market share, has recently experienced a spike in delays due to a combination of weather conditions and operational constraints. Aviation authorities have advised airlines to improve communication with passengers to reduce distress during extended waiting periods.
