Mumbai: As 2025 heads towards its final days, the Indian film industry is reflecting on a year full of unexpected successes and sleeper hits. One of the most awaited projects is O Romeo which is the fourth movie between Shahid Kapoor and director Vishal Bhardwaj.
The film is now entering its final stages of production, with the makers moving quickly to complete the shoot and stay on schedule for an early 2026 release.
Final Patch Shoot Begins on December 28
According to a report by Mid-Day revealed, the final leg of the shoot of O Romeo starts on December 28 and a 10-day patch plan has been arranged at Vrundavan Studios, Malad, in Mumbai. There will be no pause in the schedule of the team during the New Year celebrations since Vishal Bhardwaj is eager to complete the remaining portions as soon as possible.
This phase of filming will focus on action sequences and dialogue-heavy scenes. The first two days of the schedule will involve Shahid Kapoor as the main focus. Co-stars, Triptii Dimri and Randeep Hooda will not be required in this patch shoot, since they do not feature in any of the scenes at this stage.
January Shoot and Post Production in Full Swing
After a short New Year break, the production is set to resume with an additional eight-day shoot in January 2026. This portion will involve crowd scenes and sequences using body doubles. If needed, the actors may be asked to join for a day or two, depending on the requirements of the scenes.
Meanwhile, post-production work has already been done, which means that the makers are determined to have the film on track so that it can release on time. The tight schedule indicates the confidence of the team in the project and its readiness to come to the big screen.
A High Octane Action Thriller with Romance at Its Core
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, O Romeo is being positioned as a visually rich, high-energy action thriller layered with a strong romantic storyline. The film stars Shahid Kapoor together with Triptii Dimri, Randeep Hooda, and seasoned actor, Nana Patekar, which adds to its huge cast.
The film is slated to release on February 13, 2026, perfectly timed for the Valentine’s Day weekend. O Romeo is already building up a lot of buzz before its release with Vishal Bhardwaj and Shahid Kapoor who have a very unique way of telling a story and with his screen presence.
