Mumbai: Veteran actor Prakash Raj has reportedly exited Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s much-anticipated film Spirit, allegedly following creative differences on set. Neither the actor nor the makers have officially addressed the development. In the past, Prakash Raj had been confirmed as a key cast member, and his connection to the Prabhas-starrer had created much hype among fans.

Did Prakash Raj exit from the film Spirit?

According to OTTplay, tensions reportedly arose during filming after disagreements over the interpretation and execution of a particular scene. According to the sources, the exchange ended up in friction between Prakash Raj and the director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and the actor ultimately pulled out of the project. Further speculation goes on to say that the fallout may have been entailed by some on-set problems and approach to work difference. No official statement has been released though.

Spirit has already seen multiple casting changes prior to this development. The makers had initially approached Deepika Padukone to play the female lead, who allegedly withdrew out of the project after having issues over payment and work schedules. Triptii Dimri was later brought on board opposite Prabhas.

Produced by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, Spirit remains one of the most talked-about pan-world projects, promising scale, intensity, and bold storytelling despite the ongoing speculation surrounding its cast. The movie will be released in theaters on March 5, 2027, and its first-look poster, which was revealed on the new-year, attracted enormous views due to the violent imagery. Vivek Oberoi and Kanchana also appear in supporting roles in the cast.

Meanwhile, Prakash Raj will next be seen in Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, and is also part of Thalapathy Vijay’s last film, Jana Nayagan. There are also reports that he might be featured in an important role in the next SS Rajamouli film Varanasi starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
