Mumbai: Whenever Sanjay Leela Bhansali brings together big stars, speculation is bound to follow. The latest buzz around Love and War claimed that tensions between Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal and the filmmaker had slowed down the project. But these rumours, as per MidDay, are miles apart the truth.
Sources close to the production have clarified that the film is moving exactly as scheduled. The team is on a scheduled year end vacation, which was booked far ahead of time. This is because Bhansali films are staged on a massive scale, and even a slight interruption can be construed as a delay, the source stated.
Shoot Schedule and Release Plans on Track
As per insiders quoted by mid-day, the remaining portions of Love and War include patchwork scenes, visual effects, select sequences, and musical portions. Since the movie is a period piece, an extensive VFX stage is essential. This scheduling keeps the film on track to come out in theatres in August this year.
The source added that shooting will restart by mid January and continue until March, while post production will move ahead at the same time. This tight planning ensures that the film stays on course for its theatrical release in August this year.
Addressing reports of strained relationships on set, the insider firmly denied any fallout. They added that long and hectic schedules are an aspect of Bhansali filming style and the actors are well aware of it. Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal are reported to be fully aboard and very invested in the project.
Where the Rumours Came From
Speculation about Love and War began after reports of creative differences between Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Leela Bhansali started doing the rounds. People even heard whispers that the cast was frustrated because of changes in the release date of the film being changed several times. The movie was originally supposed to come out sometime around Christmas 2025 and later moved to March 2026.
However, sources told mid-day that these reports are being exaggerated and do not reflect the reality on set. The team maintains that the current schedule and August release plan remain firmly in place.
So far, Love and War is still moving forward on a stable path, and Bhansali and his main actors are interested in creating a film that matches the scale and expectations that come with it.
