Mumbai: Popular rapper Badshah, whose real name is Aditya Pratik Singh Sisodia, has landed in legal trouble after the Haryana Police registered a case against him over his recently released song Tateeree. Officials have also started the procedure of the issue of a Look Out Circular to the singer to avoid him going outside of the country as the investigation is being conducted.

On March 6, at the Cyber Police Station, Sector 20, Panchkula, the case was registered. According to the police officials, various teams have been activated to track down the rapper and raids are being made in several locations to trace him. An official warning has also been sent requesting Badshah to report to the police at once.

Police Raise Concerns Over Badshah’s Song’s Content

The police stated that the controversy had started when the authorities reviewed the music video and identified scenes that they believe depict minors in an inappropriate manner. The video allegedly depicts school uniformed girls throwing their school bags and fleeing school. Investigators also said that some of the words used in the song also purportedly distort the educational atmosphere.

Authorities also accused the song of having foul and offensive words towards women and girls. According to these issues, the police filed a case under Section 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.

Investigation Expands To Video Production

During the probe, authorities also discovered that a Haryana Roadways bus from the Jind depot appears in the music video. Police are currently investigating whether proper permission was obtained from the concerned department before using the bus for filming. If it is found that the vehicle was used without official approval, legal action may also be taken against those responsible.

Meanwhile, the police have already taken steps to limit the circulation of the video. The song Tateeree has been removed from its YouTube channel, and notices have been issued directing platforms to take down related content from social media.

Authorities asserted that they are also trying to eliminate short videos, reels and other versions of the scandalous song which are being distributed on different mediums. They threatened that any person caught producing or distributing such materials may be subject to severe prosecution by the law.

The development has added to the growing debate around controversial lyrics in music videos and their impact on young audiences.
