Mumbai: Salim Khan, veteran screenwriter and film-maker, and father of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on February 17 with a minor brain hemorrhage. The news caused panic in the film industry and fans and celebrities were keenly watching the news as his health improved or deteriorated.
Shortly after his hospitalisation, rumours started springing out, including high blood pressure, and breathing difficulties. Nevertheless, Dr Jalil Parkar, the Lilavati Hospital, published an official medical bulletin that Salim Khan was admitted to the ICU and put on ventilator support on precautionary measures. He was taken through a DSA which was successful after extensive medical tests and his condition subsequently stabilised.
Daisy Shah Shares Reassuring Update
Salman Khan’s close friend and Race 3 co-star Daisy Shah has now shared a positive update on Salim Khan’s recovery. Speaking to Filmygyan, Daisy revealed that although she could not visit the family at the hospital, she has been in constant touch with Salman Khan.
She replied that Salim Khan is okay and the operation was successful and he is under medical observation. She says that he is no longer in danger, a relief that has come as a welcome to his fans and well-wishers.
Bollywood Stars Rush to Visit Salim Khan
Several big names from the film industry visited Salim Khan at Lilavati Hospital to check on his health. They included Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Ranveer Singh. His long time associate and co-writer of Sholay, Javed Akhtar was seen in the hospital too, which is a sign of how much respect and love Salim Khan commands in the industry.
A day after his admission, Dr Parkar addressed the media and confirmed that the medical procedure was successful. He stated that Salim Khan was stable and responding well to treatment, adding that age can slow down recovery, but the overall progress was encouraging.
Daisy Shah and Salman Khan’s Close Bond
Daisy Shah shares a close bond with Salman Khan, both professionally and personally. She co-starred with him in Jai Ho in 2014, and would reunite with him in Race 3. Throughout the years Daisy has frequently said she was mentored and her greatest support system by Salman hence her emotional interest in his family through this period.
With Salim Khan now stable and under observation, fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief. The industry continues to send prayers and warm wishes for his speedy recovery.
