Girija Oak Turns Overnight Sensation After Lallantop Interview Clip Goes Viral
In the viral clip that grabbed the internet’s attention, Girija Oak shared a funny memory from her junior college days. She recalled how her physics professor once entered the classroom and asked the students, “What are babes?” The entire class was stunned. The confusion only grew more when he continued, “There are two types of babee; transitional babes and longitudinal babes.”
It was only later that the students realised he had mispronounced the word “waves” as “babes.” This humorous mix-up and Girija’s natural storytelling charm made the clip instantly relatable, leading it to blow up online.
As the clip circulated everywhere and Girija began receiving messages and calls from friends, colleagues, and fans who were delighted by the video. The still from her Lallantop podcast also became a viral photo, adding to her sudden popularity.
Girija Oak Breaks Silence on AI Morphed Images
However, with the sudden popularity came challenges. Alongside the viral photo, obscene AI-morphed images of Girija began circulating online. The actress addressed the issue openly and emotionally on Instagram, expressing how disturbing and harmful such content can be.
She shared her biggest concern is the impact these fake, manipulated photos might have on her 12-year-old son.
These obscene images of his mother… he’s going to see them one day. And it worries me, scares me,” she said.
Girija explained that while some photos going around were simply taken out of context, many others were completely fake and sexualised, created through AI.
“Some of them are AI-morphed images of me, which are not in great taste. They are sexualised and objectified beyond comfort. And this bothers me,” she added.
She urged both creators and consumers of such manipulated content to think about the emotional damage such acts can cause. Girija emphasised that digital ethics and empathy are more important than ever in today’s AI-driven era. Despite these challenges, she has chosen to remain hopeful and grateful for the genuine appreciation people have shown for her work in cinema and theatre.

In the same Lallantop interview, Girija also spoke about her experience filming intimate scenes with co star Gulshan Devaiah in the project Therapy Sherapy. She revealed how rare it is to feel truly comfortable in such situations, and Gulshan was one of the few actors who made the whole process smooth and respectful.
She shared how Gulshan brought three to four pillows of different sizes from his vanity van and asked her to choose whichever she felt safe with.
“During the scene, he must have asked me at least 16 or 17 times, ‘Are you okay?” she said.
He even told her that if she wanted to change or remove anything from the scene, he would completely support the decision. “It’s amazing that he’s that kind of person,” Girija added, explaining that with him, she felt zero discomfort and could today speak openly about shooting intimate scenes because he created such a secure environment.
