Mumbai: At the grand centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan captured everyone’s attention with her heartfelt presence and an inspiring speech. The globally loved actor spoke about unity, compassion and the true essence of humanity, making the moment one of the most talked about highlights from the event. Her warm gesture of touching Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s feet later added an emotional and surprising turn to the ceremony.
A Grand Celebration with Top Dignitaries
Believers and followers from across the nation gathered in Puttaparthi on November 19 to honour the 100th birth anniversary of Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
The event saw the presence of some of the country’s most respected leaders and icons including

- Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar
- Actor Aishwarya Rai
The massive crowd welcomed the dignitaries with applause as they arrived to celebrate the spiritual leader’s life and teachings.
Aishwarya’s Powerful Speech
Taking the stage, Aishwarya Rai delivered a moving speech that focused on the values taught by Sri Sathya Sai Baba. She recalled the well known “Five D’s”

- Determination
- Discrimination
She urged everyone to embrace these principles and spread love in everyday life.
Aishwarya’s standout lines left the audience deeply moved.
She said that there is only one caste and that is the caste of humanity, only one religion which is the religion of love and only one language which is the language of the heart. She added that God is one and omnipresent.
A Heartfelt Thank You to PM Modi
During her speech, Aishwarya Rai expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for attending the celebration. She said she was looking forward to hearing his wise and inspiring words. She also shared that his presence added sanctity to the event and reflected Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s message that true leadership is service and service to man is service to God.
After completing her address, Aishwarya walked towards PM Modi and touched his feet, a gesture that soon went viral and sparked conversations online.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Work Front
Aishwarya was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s epic historical film Ponniyin Selvan II in 2023. The film featured a massive ensemble cast including Vikram Prabhu, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Sobitha Dhulipala, Jayaram, Ravi Mohan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R. Parthiban among others. The actor has not yet announced her next project.
