New Delhi, November 22: They are true hero of each Nation who train themselves not only to climb the promotional ladder but to sacrifice their life for the protection and pride of every citizen and the country as whole. Yes, They are non other than our Military forces. The story of Wing Commander Namansh Syal is an added memory to the history of sacrifice and pride. He had a dream in his eyes to represent India in the stage of world and he did with entire struggle, passion and precision. On November 21st, Commander Syal, the 34 year old IAF pilot was flying Tejas at the Dubai Air Show. He never knew that it was his last fly which going to be remembered by everyone but with grief.

Childhood in a Himalayan Village

Commander Syal was born in 1991 in a small village of Patiyalkar in Himachal Preadesh’s Kangra district. Kangra, has a tradition to give birth of dedicated military aryman and woman. Young minds of Kangra dreams to wear the uniform and be the face of the nation. Mr. Syal was not an exception because his father is a retired military person and the constant source of inspiration for him.

Militarise are described to be a little aggressive but Commander Syal’s close ones use to describe him as a “humble man,” because he carried achievements as a part of life but duty as non-negotiable.

Career and personal life

Syal joined IAF in the early 2010s, after completion of rigorous flying and mental strength training. He did for his country. Initially he used to fly the MiG-21—the uncompromising and high-speed aircraft. But it did not took him much time to reach towards the next level of efficiency when he started flying Sukhoi Su-30 MKI, a more versatile one. His confidence make him choose such operations that demanded vigilance, surveillance, and adaptability.

He achieved a milestone later when he joined the Tejas program. No doubt he was living in his dream at that moment. After posting at Sulur Air Force Base in Tamil Nadu, Namansh Syal’s name was one of the trusted pilots who can showcase LCA Tejas Mk-1 to the world. And Syal took it as his responsibility to enrich the name of the country. More than an professional excellence it was a duty to him.

Even after such prestigious promotions, Commander Syal used to carry his calm and steady nature which made him a leader in the minds of his colleagues. Accor to his colleagues, he always stayed very eager to guide young pilots. Truly a real leader and guide he was.

Beyond his military filed, he used to balance his personal life with such an ease which was very rare in military life. His wife Afsaan, herself is an Indian Air Force officer too. They have daughter too. Except his posting Commander Syal’s approach towards his family never changed.

The story of Commander Namansh Syal is the story of a proud gentleman who paid the ultimate price to bring his nation’s dream into the sky.
