Mumbai: Shraddha Kapoor is stepping into a world she has never explored before, and her dedication is showing in every step. The actress has been giving her all to the role as she prepares to play an iconic figure Vithabai Narayangaonkar in Laxman Utekar’s upcoming film Eetha. But the journey recently took a painful turn when she injured her left foot during an intense Lavani sequence. Instead of slowing down, Shraddha surprised her team with her determination to keep shooting, proving once again why she remains one of Bollywood’s most hardworking stars.

Shraddha Kapoor Injured

Shraddha Kapoor was dressed in a high-energy Lavani dance costume that was going to be accompanied with music by Ajay Atul. She wore a vivid Nauvari saree, jewellery in her multiple layers and a traditional kamarpatta, dancing to the beats of the dholki in a long progression of high-speed steps.

Some source has confirmed that the actress, who has apparently gained more than fifteen kilos to appear like the young Vithabai, had ended up placing all of her weight on the left foot during a tricky step. This sudden movement caused her to lose balance and ultimately fracture her foot.

Shoot halted but Shraddha wants to keep going

Shraddha Kapoor did not wish the film to halt despite the injury. She instantly proposed to re-plan the schedule to allow the team to shoot close-ups and the emotional parts rather than dance parts.
She returned to Mumbai in March and shot some dramatic scenes in the unit based at Madh Island. However, in two days, the pain intensified and the shoot was forced to stop entirely.
The team is now expected to regroup after two weeks once she fully recovers.

Shraddha’s first biopic creates major buzz

Eetha marks Shraddha Kapoor’s first-ever biopic, and the excitement around the project is already high. The actress is known for her versatility, and fans are eager to see her take on a character as layered and powerful as Vithabai.

Who was Vithabai Narayangaonkar

Vithabai Narayangaonkar is renowned as the Tamasha Queen in Maharashtra. She was born into a family of folk performers and she learned Lavani and Nautanki very early in life.
It was a life of pure physical activity, utter social reproach and eternal poverty, but she ascended to the heights by pure talent and electric stage performances.

Among the most amazing stories about her is the one which tells of the time when she gave birth to a baby backstage during one of her performances. She is said to have managed to cut the umbilical chord herself with a stone and get back on the stage to complete her performance. This story has become an icon of her incredible devotion to her art.

Watching Shraddha Kapoor embrace a role as fierce and demanding as Vithabai feels like a big moment in her career. She is not only transforming physically but is also pushing herself emotionally to match the intensity of the legend she is portraying. Her injury, though unfortunate, highlights her dedication. It is rare to see an actor remain so invested even through pain. When Eetha finally reaches the screen, it may just stand as one of her most memorable performances.
