Girija Oak Shares Heartwarming Friendship Anecdotes
In the interview, Girija Oak didn’t just talk about friends she spoke about the kind of bonds that feel like a comforting blanket after a long day. She shared a sweet and almost filmi anecdote about one of her closest friends. The funniest part? This friend originally belonged to her husband’s college circle, but life had its own plans, the friend slowly became more Girija’s than her husband’s.
Girija revealed that her comfort level with this friend is so deep, so natural, that she casually walks into her house just to take a bath. No hesitation, no awkwardness, no second thoughts. She confessed with a laugh that she has done this “many, many times,” and it has always felt completely normal. According to her, this is the definition of real friendship, the kind where you don’t knock, don’t explain, and don’t feel judged. Just pure warmth, trust, and a home that belongs to you even when it’s not yours.
She then narrated another adorable memory the first time she ever tasted cold coffee. Young Girija, with her tight-knit group of friends, had gone to her friend Payel’s house. They were doing everything kids do chatting, giggling, doing homework when Payel’s mother walked in and asked if they wanted cold coffee.
For Girija, this wasn’t just a drink. It was a full moment. She had never tasted cold coffee before, and when she took that first sip, she was overwhelmed with joy. She said the experience felt “special” and almost luxurious to her younger self. That day became etched in her memory, not because of the drink alone, but because she once again felt the magic of being welcomed like family.
Gulshan Made Sure I Felt Safe Every Second” Girija on Intimate Scenes
While talking about her new web series Therapy Sherapy, Girija Oak opened up about filming intimate scenes and how important comfort is for an actor. She said that even though such scenes are planned carefully, there are only a few co-stars who truly make you feel zero discomfort and Gulshan Devaiah is one of them.

Girija revealed that Gulshan brought three or four different pillows from his vanity van each with different shapes and softness and asked her to choose whatever made her feel most relaxed. During the shoot, he repeatedly checked in with her, asking “Are you okay?” at least 16–17 times. He also told her that if she felt uncomfortable at any point, they could change or remove anything she wanted.
Girija said this level of care and respect touched her heart. It made her feel completely safe and confident during the scene. She also mentioned that intimacy coordinators were present and that clear discussions took place beforehand to ensure that both actors knew exactly how the scene would go.
According to her, Gulshan’s behaviour is the example of how every co-actor should be thoughtful, gentle, and deeply respectful.
