Mumbai: Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor is set to bring a powerful real life story to the big screen with her upcoming film, Eetha, reuniting with producer Dinesh Vijan after the blockbuster Stree. The movie is directed by Laxman Utekar and went on floors on November 1, 2025.

The movie Eetha is a biopic based on the life of legendary Tamasha artist Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar. She was well known for her vibrant dance performances and heartfelt singing. Vithabai started performing at a young age after being born in July 1935 in Pandharpur, Solapur district, into a family of classical musicians.

The film’s title, Eetha is inspired from how the word Vittha is pronounced in rural parts of Maharashtra, making the story relatable even more. The movie, which features music by Ajay-Atul, is bound to be a great mixture of good storytelling and a touch of Marathi culture.
Because of Shraddha’s Maharashtrian roots, she is expected to naturally add depth to her role, making Eetha one of her most difficult and powerful roles to perform. The film is also seen as a heartfelt tribute to Maharashtra’s rich folk heritage and female performers who influenced the culture of this region.
