Mumbai: The makers of the much-hyped romantic film by Rahul Ravindran, The Girlfriend, have finally released the official trailer of the movie giving the viewers an insight into a love story filled with emotion and tension. The trailer starts with Rashmika Mandanna, Dheekshith Shetty, and Anu Emmanuel in the main roles and is going to premiere in theatres across the world on November 7.
According to the 2-minute 39-second trailer, it begins with Bhooma (Rashmika Mandanna) suggesting to her boyfriend Vikram (Dheekshith Shetty) that the two should have a proper break from their relationship. What started as a lighthearted romantic drama quickly turns into an emotionally-charged tale of romance, obsession, and inner conflict.
A sequence of flashbacks allow the viewers to witness how the relationship between Bhooma and Vikram developed, the proposal of love at first sight to a claustrophobic relationship filled with control and anxiety. The clash of interest of Vikram and his possessiveness and unpredictability with Bhooma and her state of peace and space paints a vivid image of how love can become poisonous.
The trailer positions Rashmika Mandanna in one of her most emotionally challenging parts ever. As Bhooma, she has to deal with the suffering of a bad relationship and struggle with herself. Vikram (Dheekshith Shetty), however, is an impulsive, obsessive lover, whose love is on the verge of being unstable.
Adding more emotional depth, there is also Anu Emmanuel, the actor portraying Durga, a woman that makes Bhooma doubt her happiness. In one scene, Durga tells her, You are perfect to him, but he is not right to you, and this makes Bhooma go into self-realization and the strength to face her circumstances.
About The Girlfriend
The Girlfriend is the first film by Rahul Ravindran as a director in six years since his 2019 romantic comedy Manmadhudu 2. This time the filmmaker is more grounded and emotionally rich, dealing with the feminine aspect of contemporary relationships, the theme that has been rarely ventured into in Telugu mainstream films.

The Girlfriend is a bold movie in the sense that it narrates the story on a female perspective unlike the conventional Telugu love stories. The movie, through the character of Bhooma, addresses the emotional aspects of the contemporary love, mental health challenges, and the boundary between nurturing and manipulation. The Girlfriend with its unpolished feelings, its high-quality acting, and its heart-rending storytelling is a breath of fresh air to Telugu cinema a film that subverts conventional ideas about love and relationships.
The film was produced by Dheeraj Mogilineni and Vidya Kopineedi under the name of Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment and Geetha Arts and presented by Allu Aravind.ct even more.
